It’s Time To Stopped Annoying Your Waiter

It’s Time To Stopped Annoying Your Waiter

Who doesn’t love dining out? Restaurants are a great place to celebrate special occasions, meet up with friends, or just enjoy a nice meal. You’re met with the usual jamboree – a waiter who welcomes you, takes your order, and makes your stay as enjoyable as possible.

Now how often do you see customers reciprocating this courtesy? Instead, they tend to be rude, ignorant, and blatantly annoying to waiters. Now, waiters are turning the tables as they spill the beans on the annoying things that customers do.

1. No Tips

Tipping your server is good manners but you’ll be shocked to know that many people skip out on it. Unfortunately, the waiting staff happens to be extremely underpaid and rely on tips to make ends meet. Sometimes, waiters have to deal with extremely picky customers which results in them running back and forth from the table to the kitchen. If you are one such customer, we suggest you show your gratitude by tipping your server the next time you’re at a dining establishment for a meal.

2. Complaining About Wait Times

Let’s say you forgot to make a reservation and are now forced to wait for a table to become available. While it can be frustrating, it is important to remember that this shortcoming is not the waiter’s fault. They are doing their job by accommodating the people who have already made reservations. So, rather than getting angry at the waiting staff, reflect on the fact that it was your negligence that landed you and your partner into this situation and that you should probably make a reservation next time around.

3. Getting Angry About Masks

Whether you believe it or not, active cases during the pandemic are still on the rise, especially with the emergence of new variants. So, if restaurants require you to wear a mask, they are not only ensuring your safety but also the safety of their staff who have to deal with hundreds of customers coming in and out of their establishment. If you think you can argue your way out of wearing masks, you are sorely mistaken.

Given how tough times are, the least you can do is not compound the problems of your servers. Acknowledge how difficult their job can be and actively try to make the experience smoother for both yourselves and the waiting staff.
